Climbed St Helens on
August 10, 2013,
August 18, 2012 and
September 8, 2012. Also in
2011.
Sunrise behind Mount Adams while sitting at the boulder field waiting for
enough daylight to safely start up.
Mount Hood at sunrise.
There was a USFS Ranger at the base of Monitor Ridge checking passes. First
time wee've seen a Ranger up here.
The view of Mount Hood behind the weather station one mile from the Mount St
Helens summit. Great view of Mount Jefferson to the right and the mountain
behind it which I believe is one of the Three Sisters.
The views from around the weather station.
Made it to the summit again. And what a perfect bluebird day it was, especially
considering that it's been pouring buckets with thunder and lightning the past
several days. We've really lucked out on these climbs weather-wise, especially
considering that we've had to book our reservations 7 months in advance.
It was a pleasant climb up the ridge. Warm but with a nice, cool breeze.
Downright blustery and very cold at the summit though. Didn't linger... took
some pictures, admired the view and then headed down.
That's Mount Rainier in the bacground. This was a six mountain top view climb!
There are still colorful weeds here... interesting since there will be snow up
here in just a few more weeks.
