Seems like it was only a year ago that
Julie had a b'day...
...and due to circumstances beyond our control, this year's celebration needs to
be delayed for a while.
Here's a picture of the Columbia Gorge sternwheeler leaving the dock at
Cascade Locks, Oregon, last July. That's when I got the idea that a boat ride
might be a fun thing for Julie to enjoy. Plans change but Julie is a tough old
broad and I have every confidence that she'll come out of it just fine. She's
DEFINITELY tougher than any ten guys I know.... and not so much as a tiny
complaint during this whole, crappy ordeal. If it was me they were doing all of
that stuff to, they'd be ducking flying furniture. Eloise is thinking about
promoting Julie to Assistant Queen of the Woild, which, of course, would be quite
an honor.... especially since Ell does not impress easily.
As soon as Julie is up to it, we're taking our romantic little cruise on the
Leaking Lena... pictures to follow.

You couldn't ask for a better Fall day in the Gorge.... warm, sunny, 100 mph East wind...
And we're off for a two hour cruise. Julie, me, The Skipper, Gilligan....

Here's a view of the Bridge of the Gods that you don't get from the shores.
A late lunch/early dinner at our (or at least my) favorite Chinese place, the
China Gorge in Hood River.
