Travels with The Original Easyrider®

After a long hiatus living life without the pursuit of photography,
circumstances required that I go for a ride on this almost 80 degree
day... with my Nikon in tow.

FXSTC still a very fun ride. New rear tire. Upgraded rear brake rotor
Still runs really well and she's happy that she breathes better and sounds
awesome. Been out a couple of times earlier this month..short rides mostly.

It's getting really difficult to find new things to photograph so I find
that I'm leaving the Nikon home a lot these days. Just riding for the joy
of being in the wind, mostly.

Due to circumstances last Winter I'm still in recovery mode. Hopeful
that I return to good health but keenly aware that my days are definitely
numbered. Cashed in 10% of my retirement savings to finance a few trips
in 2026... some killer seafood, burgers and.... basically just wanting
to enjoy and make the most of whatever time I have left.

Once I ditch this Foley catheter (a REAL pain in the ....) I plan on some
major upgrades to the Road King and possibly a few more to the FXSTC.

Spring visit to Cathlamet, Washington
A very pleasant 160 mile day ride I've done a gazillion times
With the obligatory stop in Rainier, Oregon

A lovely ferry ride for $4

And lunch at the Berry Patch in Westport, Oregon
Complete with a slice of pie!

Bonus pictures taken in B&W which is my preferred way to shoot.

These images were made with my Nikon D810 camera and my
Zeiss Planar T* 50mm F/1.4 ZF.2 manual focus Lens.

I was out to Puget Island in 2010, 2022.

I was out to Cathlamet, Washington in 2012, 2014, 2014, 2014, 2014, 2014, 2015, 2015, 2015

2016, 2016, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2018, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2020, 2021, 2021, 2021, 2022, 2022, 2023, 2026.

It was a tad chilly and windy starting out but by the time I got to
Cathlamet it was very pleasant. And the return ride home was perfect.
Back in the film days I always felt lucky if I got one or two decent
images out of a 36 frames roll of film. Shot mostly in B&W due to the
cost and the fact that I could develop and enlarge my own monochrome
images very inexpensively. Color film processing not so much. And
color enlargements? Way too expensive.

These days I take many shots just on the chance that they might look
good on the computer. And if they don't, it's no big loss. And sometimes
that shot you thought was a bust turns out to be gold. You just never
know.

I don't think any of the images I created today are going to win any
awards. Or are even good enough to enlarge and frame. But I do tend
to be hyper critical of my own work so I'm not the best judge. In any
case, it was great to get out for a ride and take some photos after being
holed up and sick for so many months.

Not all the vessels in this marina are expensive. There are also
a few real scows.
