An abandoned Methodist church in Grass Valley, Oregon.
Built somewhere between 1880 and 1900. Information about when this church was
last used varies. Some say not long after WWII. Others say much later. There
does not seem to be any electricity wiring inside and just a small wood stove
for heat. That would put it's last use closer to 1950 than to more recent years.
Grass Valley, Oregon was first "discovered" by White men in October, 1848, by
three gold prospectors. In the Summer of 1849, it was visited again by Emigrants
searching for stray cattle. The first known building, a cabin, was built in
August, 1849. It was built by a party of five men on Badger Hill. These were
the town's first settlers.
