GETTING THERE: We were out to Neahkahnie Mountain in 2011. And returned in 2011.

The entrance to this trailhead is off of Highway 101 just across from Sunset Road
which is a few hundred yards North of the golf course. As you can see, there are a
couple of signs right at the entrance road. We parked on the turn off at 101. But
you can save yourself 20 minutes and 3/4 mile of hiking if you drive up the road
and park at the trailhead.

This is a very easy 4 mile in and out hike. If you wanted to do a nice 6 or so
mile loop, you could start at the trailhead described HERE, hike to the top
of Neahkahnie, then back down on the trail described HERE. Finish it off with a
pleasant downhill stroll down 101, enjoying the ocean view until you get back to
your car a mile down the road.

It was a little foggy and overcast so the views weren't as good as past visits.
But no people (although that changed big time by the time we headed down)...

The scotch broom was in bloom!

We started at the top of the hill on 101. Followed the trail to the summit.
Continued on the trail which ends near Sunset Lane. Walked about 2 miles (mostly
downhill) back to the car. This is still a very easy hike even as a longer loop
hike. Anyone in decent physical condition would have no trouble doing this one.

Then on to Falcon Cove. A 5 mile in and out hike with several hundred feet
of elevation gain.
